The Thenmala Dam is the second largest irrigation project in Kerala. It impounds the longest reservoir in the state. It attracts tourists from various part of the country.
Administrative Sanction is accorded for the project vide order NO – 281/2019/Tourism dt 24/08/2019 for an estimated cost of Rs 4,49,90,000/-. The project work has been entrusted by Tourism Department with the following components.
- Welcome fountain,
- foot path,
- pergola,
- Children’s play area,
- tree court,
- restaurant,
- seating,
- security room,
- toilets,
- shops,
- gathering space,
- sculpture,
- soft landscaping,
- electrification etc.
