The State Institute of Rural Development, Kottarakkara was established as an autonomous body under the auspices of the Government of Kerala in 1987 with the objective of developing managerial skills, organisational abilities, leadership qualities and decision making skills among different categories of Government officials, elected representatives of Panchayats and members of non-governmental organisations who are engaged in developmental activities in the State. It is also a major research and consultancy center on various facets of rural development.
The project Infrastructure developments of SIRD at Kottarakkara- Balance workis executed by KIIDC at an Estimated PAC of 2943952. The compnents that coming under this project are, The Front access gate with name board, Recetion counter and steel furnitures,Steel bridge passage for the hostel, interlock pavement, Security Cabin Maintenance and Painting of compound wall.
