The Muziris Heritage Project, claimed to be the first of its kind in the country, is under implementation with funding support of Ministry of Tourism, GoI.
Various canals coming under Phase I of Muziris Heritage contains lot of suspended materials and the canals do not have sufficient water depth at some locations.
Government have entrusted the project “Improvements to Muziris Waterways – Construction of Jetties, deepening and clearing of rivers and side protection” with Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd for implementing the connected works. The work is fast progressing.
