Achankoil river basin of Pathanamthitta District has been selected as one of the river basins for development. Six locations have been identified for construction of Bandharas.
Bandharas proposed are as follows.
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river at downstream of Kumpazha Bridge near mount Bethany School in Pathanamthitta District.
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river at Valiyakoikkal Sastha Temple, Pandalam in Pathanamthitta District.
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river at downstream of Vayarappuzha kadavu near Mahadeva temple, Pandalam in Pathanamthitta District.
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river across Achankoil River upstream of Mathoor Valiyathodu in Pathanamthitta District.
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river at downstream of kadakkavu valiyathodu in Pathanamthitta District
- Construction of Bandhara across Achenkovil river at downstream of Chenneerkkara – Mezhuvalli Water supply scheme in Pathanamthitta District.
